Description
It is estimated that the Rotolo family built the palace between the first and second half of the nineteenth century, conserving it until the early 2000s.
Made entirely of local limestone, using techniques similar to those used in the construction of trulli, the Palace was built on the nineteenth-century axis, placed in a longitudinal position with respect to the main Basilica.
The Rotolo family inhabited it in the early years following its construction, later abandoning it, when the disintegration of the provincial nobility promoted the exodus to cultural centers such as Naples or Rome.
At that point, the building was first taken into use by the Carabinieri corps (a photograph explicitly shows the Carabinieri sign above the entrance door); later, used as a detachment / private accommodation of the Alberobello bundle.
At the end of the war, the building returned to the availability of the Rotolo family who, now living permanently in Rome, sporadically used it as a holiday home, resulting in the decay that has characterized the last 40 years.
Thanks to the radical interventions, which lasted about 8 years, we were able to restore all the charm of the property, making it marry the new needs of hospitality and the best of today's comforts.
