B&B Palazzo De Mori In The Historical Centre Of Otranto
Palazzo de Mori is one of the most adorable and authentic B&B’s, that I have come across in the area of Lecce in Puglia. Just like the label “Dimora Storica” suggests, it is an old historical house once belonging to the noble Michele of the Leondari family, who died fighting against the Saracens. Otranto is an amazing place in Puglia, built in a beautiful bay with vivid Mediterranean spirit and history. The legacy of that unique era can still be found in a simple, yet grand hospitality such as by Palazzo de Mori.
Exceptional Comfort Next To The Sea
The noble spirit of Palazzo de Mori it is still present and preserved despite the renovation, as I noticed right away. Once you pass the iron gates and the old stone walls, everything feels pure and bright with a special intimate atmosphere. All the rooms present a perfect (and very) white canvas, with a touch of an oriental vibe that can be found as a sudden splash of colour in a detail. While sitting on the large terrace and gazing at the bay, my host Stefanio suggested me to take a boat trip to Castro or even a Vespa tour! Castro is another beautiful bay town in Puglia, and only half an hour of drive from Otranto, so I was intrigued.
Delicious Zero Km Food For Breakfast
Tomorrow morning, before heading to another adventure I had a lovely breakfast at Palazzo de Mori with local and fresh products. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and right so, with all the jam, cakes and biscuits I ate! If you are looking for a romantic small scale spot, but still in the centre of a beautiful bay city such as Otranto, I would definitely suggest Palazzo de Mori.
