Description
Tenuta San Michele, Panoramic Winery On The Slopes Of Mount Etna
Tenuta San Michele (Murgo) is the first accommodation I have visited since I started working at Vesuviotour, and is one of my favourite places. This beautiful agriturismo is a part of the Scammacca’s family wine estate, and it is located on the slopes of the largest volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. Making it an ideal area for wine production. The Agriturismo Tenuta San Michele is surrounded by vineyards with a beautiful panorama of Mount Etna on one side, and the sea on the other. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy this view, both from the pool and from the rooms.
Delicious Restaurant With Wines From Murgo
While staying at Agriturismo Tenuta San Michele, I was surprised by the flavours of their local dishes. The antipasti, in particular, were delicious! You can also enjoy the beautiful view and taste the wines produced by Scammaca family. During the day, wine tastings are also organized in their wine cellar where you can learn more about wine production.
Tenuta San Michele Is An Ideal base to visit Mount Etna
Located along one of the main access routes to the craters, Tenuta San Michele is the destination of many visitors and wine lovers. Within the company, the owners have renovated three old buildings that are no longer used for production and created a restaurant and hotel with 15 rooms.
During your stay nearby Mount Etna, I definitely recommend not to skip an excursion to the volcano with our local guides!
