Italy - Friuli Venezia Giulia

Enjoy all the Attractions of Friuli Venezia Giulia

Friuli Venezia Giulia is an Italian region located on the border with Austria and Slovenia.
The region is characterized by numerous natural beauties, including the Prealpi Giulie Nature Park, a nature reserve that extends across the mountains of the Italian-Slovenian border; the Foce dell'Isonzo Regional Nature Reserve, a protected area that stretches over the mouth of the Isonzo River and the Adriatic Sea; the Fusine Lakes, two mountain lakes surrounded by beautiful mountains; the Karst, a karst area with a unique landscape of canyons, caves, and sinkholes; and the beaches and coastal towns such as Trieste, Sistiana, and Grado.
The cuisine of this region is very diverse due to its geographical location and the culinary traditions of Austria and Slovenia.
Among the typical dishes from the region, we can mention San Daniele ham, a fine raw ham with a delicate flavor; brovada, a local specialty of fermented red beets; gubana, a puff pastry dessert filled with nuts, raisins, and spices; the cheeses, including Montasio, Friulano, and Latteria, and of course, the wines, such as Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, and Refosco.
