The Dolomites: a paradise of nature and sport

The Dolomites are an incredible mountain massif located in northeastern Italy, mainly in the Trentino-Alto Adige region and partly in the Veneto region. This mountain system was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 and offers a wide range of activities and attractions for visitors. Thanks to the wide range of recreational activities they offer, hikers can enjoy hiking trails of different levels of difficulty, which lead to spectacular panoramic views, alpine lakes, forests and valleys. They also offer numerous ski slopes and lifts of different levels of difficulty. Climbing is another popular activity in the region thanks to the multiple climbing sites available for beginners and experienced climbers.
Cortina d'Ampezzo is one of the most popular ski resorts, with a wide range of ski runs and recreational activities available to visitors. The Sesto Dolomites Natural Park is a protected area that offers numerous hiking trails, lakes and breathtaking landscapes.
The museums of the Dolomites offer an overview of the natural and cultural history of the region, including the Museum of Natural Sciences in Trento and the Museum of Popular Traditions of the Dolomites in San Candido.
Not to be forgotten is the Strada delle Dolomiti, a panoramic road that crosses some of the most spectacular areas of the mountain massif. A journey along this road offers the chance to admire the beauty of the surrounding mountains and landscapes.
