Toscane is characterized by its beautiful green hills, idyllic villages and historical treasures. But don't forget the delicious wines! While enjoying the shining sun and the summer temperature, this will be nothing but a great success. You don't have to be a wine connoisseur, because the Italian connoisseurs tell everything about their world-famous wines with great passion. Moreover, the experience of doing one of the many wine tours in Tuscany guarantees an unforgettable time. It is therefore no wonder that your holiday is only truly complete once you have included a wine tasting on your programme. Will you read along to discover all the ins and outs about wine tasting in Tuscany?

Wine tasting in Tuscany is a feast for the mouth

Tuscany is not only popular with tourists, wine lovers can also not get enough of this region. These wines are priced far beyond the borders of Italy for their good taste. The climate and the special soil structure ensure that the local wines are of good quality and stimulate all the senses. Are you visiting Tuscany? Then you can't believe your luck, because there are several wine regions in the region. The famous wine regions of Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano are the crème de la crème, but don't forget San Gimignano and Bolgheri.

The tastiest wines from Chianti that you want to try during wine o'clock

The authentic wines from the Chianti region will undoubtedly leave you wanting more. The Chianti wine of the same name, also known as Chianti Classico, exudes luxury and is made from the Sangiovese grape. This means that this famous wine has a good taste and will please many wine lovers. Have you got a young variant? Then you taste a mix of sweet cherries and delicious plums. An older version tastes like tobacco and leather and takes you back in time. Anyone who is convinced can combine this wine tour with a fly en drive Chianti-area, which in our opinion is always a good choice. Would you rather stay in a permanent place and explore Tuscany from there? Then we highly recommend Agriturismo Terre di Baccio. Located among the vineyards, there is no better place to spend your holiday. Enjoy a well-deserved holiday by the pool with a glass of local Chianti. Would you like to do a wine tasting in the Chianti region? Then you've come to the right place at Castello di Verrazzano, Castello d’Albola and Castello di Fonterutoli. All three tastings take place in an authentic castle among the rolling hills of Tuscany. You can bet that this will complete the experience. Salute!

The wealth of Montalcino

If you head south, you will arrive in the traditional town of Montalcino. This place is perfect for a visit and has enough to keep you entertained for an afternoon. The fact that Montalcino is known for its good wines is evident from the fact that the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo compete for the title here. Which of the two do you choose? These fruity wines mature for decades before they completely blow you away and allow you to experience a true taste sensation. An activity that should not be missed in our opinion is a wine tasting at Palazzo Bandino, only 40 minutes from Montalcino. You can also taste the tastiest wines at wineries Enoteca la Fortezza and Castello di Banfi, which are among the best wineries in Tuscany.

Taste Montepulciano

From Montalcino we travel to Montepulciano, and here too, you can taste pure quality. The local Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of thousands and belongs to the highest segment, the DOCG. As with Chianti, the wine here is made from the Sangiovese grape, also called Prugnolo Gentile. Other grape varieties used in the red drink are the Canaiolo Nero and the Mammolo. Enjoyment at its best! The ideal base for a wine tasting is Podere La Rocca, a destination surrounded by vineyards and orchards of the La Rocca family. One thing is certain: nature and wine lovers will love it here. Although Podere La Rocca is the right place to enjoy Tuscan wine, the Talosa winery or the Avignonesi wine estate are also excellent alternatives.

San Gimignano at its best

When you talk about quality wine, you are talking about De Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Unlike its predecessors, this wine is not characterized by its red color, but by its white tint. The Vernaccia di San Gimignano has a dry taste and obtained the DOC classification in 1966 and the DOCG classification since 1993. That means that this wine can declare itself one of the best. In addition to the Vernaccia grape, you will find local grape varieties from the area in this wine. If you would like to taste wine, you can visit the Guardastelle vineyard or Fattoria Il Piano. And where to stay? At Guardastelle Charme this will be an experience you will never forget. In this charming Bed & Breakfast, you wake up every morning with beautiful views and a delicious breakfast. You can also taste the tastiest wines in the wine cellar under the country house. Doesn't that sound like the ideal holiday?

The most special thing from Bolgheri

Enjoying wine by the sea, is there anything better than that? In Bolgheri it is possible! Located in the Tuscan coastal area of Maremma, you can enjoy the Super Tuscans wines. It is no secret that these wines are superb, as wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc see the light of day here. These wines are not only popular in Tuscany, they are also a great success internationally. In our opinion, an equally great success is a stay at Agriturismo Il Poggiarello. Moreover, this holiday address has a new wine estate, called Muralia. Here you can optimally pamper your taste buds, as well as at the nearby wineries Azienda Agricola Chiappini and Castello di Bolgheri . Here you can learn everything about the local wines in a beautiful location and enjoy the Tuscan pride to the fullest. Enjoy it!
