Description
Quinta da Pousadela 4 nights
Pousadela, more than a farm, a house or a wineresidence, is the experience gathered from many years of stories. It is a centenary place where whole families worked, cried and laughed. Where a few have been born, some married, and where many more have passed. Passengers, pilgrims, cattle traders. There are memories in the background, legends that enrich and a tranquility that you breathe.
The story goes that it belonged to the Clergy, like most lands in Portugal. Some say it was no man's land, a place of passage, where you would spend the night, eat a broth and rest your body. The oldest records take me to my grandmother, Domingas da Costa, who lived here ten generations ago. Paulo's memory takes him to his grandmother Rosa, who came here at the age of twenty-three, a widow with a daughter on her lap. She and her sister Lourdes undertook the adventure of rebuilding a life here, setting up a farm in the hardships of other times. Destiny wanted that, even without knowing this common past, Paulo and I would unite and embark together on this adventure, in this work of a simple life. An authentic life that recalls times gone by and where time runs more slowly. More than a concept, Pousadela is our home. Welcome. Rita Sá & Paulo Amado

Aldeia da Mata Pequena 5 nights
Among the green hills and valleys of the agricultural region northwest of Lisboa, known as 'Saloia', Aldeia da Mata Pequena is a small rural village with a dozen houses, where people still live peacefully and in close contact with nature, breathe clean air and live in authenticity. Small, simple, rustic and very cozy, the houses were rigorously restored from almost nothing but ruins, as result of an intense research work and, above all, of the passion and tenacious persistency of Ana Partidário and Diogo Batalha. It is a village full of tenderness and enchantment where the memories of a past which is familiar to us all, brings back an enthusiastic feeling about pieces of furniture and fixtures that were once part of our childhood and that enliven today's memories with enthusiasm.
