a pictoresque village on Mediterraneo

Cefalù is one of the most picturesque villages in Sicily: a fishing village under the Mediterranean sun. There's something new and unique to discover every day. A stroll through the narrow lanes of the old town, known as "vaneddi," takes us back to a glorious history, leaving behind many traces such as the Cefalù Cathedral. This impressive Norman-style church was built almost 900 years ago by Roger II of Sicily and remains one of Italy's most significant historical structures. Its ornate façade boasts two massive towers on either side and is elegantly adorned with arches and loggias on the right.
Remnants of daily life are illustrated by the medieval laundry, where women used to wash their clothes in a stream flowing from the fortress to the sea until the last century.
Then, there's the breathtaking view of the remains of the Temple of Diana and the Castle, not to mention the megalithic walls and numerous churches.
Beneath Cefalù, in the Sicilian hinterland, lies the Madonie mountain range, covered with olive trees, beeches, chestnut trees, rare flowers, and plants, along with medieval villages full of history and traditions, such as Castelbuono, Geraci Sicula, Polizzi Generosa, and Isnello.
