Close to the capital Lisbon, yet far away from mass tourism! This small town is all about local wines, festivities and people. In the center of the city you will find a Moorish castle and surrounding the city are high mountains. From here, you can even see the city of Sintra! The region Arrábida is well-known as one of the richest growing wine-regions. This is also a great place to stay if you would like to explore the Arrábida National Park, where you can find historical forests, wildlife and an odd secluded monastery. You can also attend the Festas das Vindimas, the wine festivities, at the beginning of September. And, if you wish to see Lisbon for a day trip, the capital is easily accessible from here.
