A Dream for the Beach Lover

Gold sand, turquoise waters, and rough cliffs. Albufeira is the ideal place to enjoy the Portuguese sun, with its stunning beaches annually attracting people from all over the world. The local fish-dishes are served in the beaches restaurants and the Historic Centre of Albufeira is definitely one to not forget. Although tourist numbers are high in Albufeira, these stunning beaches are once-in-a-lifetime must see. The pintoresque small center is filled with white houses, coloured decorations, Portuguese pavements. You can visit the main Church wit hits neoclassical architecture or enjoy a local meal at one of the restaurants. Turn around the corner, and you will have a beautiful view of the sea. Speaking of the sea, you absolutely cannot miss Albufeira’s beaches. Visit Praia da Falésia or Praia de Sao Rafael, or take a boat tour to the absolutely breathtaking caved beaches like Praia de Benagil. Your jaw will drop, mine absolutely did. There are numerous other beautiful beaches, and for the adventurous people, you can take part in the waterspouts that the caves of the coastline make possible. Go kayaking, hire a canoe, or take a chance with a paddleboard. Some beaches are also ideal for surfers. Travelling with children? Take them to the Algarve Zoo marine, a big animal- but also water park. You can see all kinds of tropical animals, or simply relax at the in the park or swim in the big pool. People interested in history and archaeology can visit the ruins of a medieval castle close to Albufeira. Albufeira also has a delicious cuisine, almost always including clams, lobsters, mussels and other catches of the day, mixed with tomatoes and potatoes.
