the fisherman island

Procida is the least known island in the Gulf of Naples. For tourists who visit Capri and Ischia, the island is attractive, but it's different from the other two because of its special charm. Procida brings to mind images from centuries ago, something that's hard to find in international tourism today. The quietness of Vivara, the colorful Corricella, and the Chiaiolella harbor seem to have existed undisturbed through the ages. The religious traditions of Holy Week are followed by the entire population of Procida. All the residents take part in various processions on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, with the latter being the most important religious event on the island.
