Alentejo region

Alentejo is a region of Portugal between Lisbon and the Algarve, with a rich historical heritage and considered one of the most authentic areas of the country.

Literally in Portuguese it means "behind the Tejo river", and it is a hidden gem outside the normal circuits of international tourism, which will surprise anyone who chooses to visit it, also thanks to the fact that it is a region that has kept its folk tradition intact.

This region is rich in ancient villages not to be missed, such as Évora located in part within the medieval walls and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, or Marvão, located on the summit of the Serra de Sao Mamede.

Other points of interest no less important in this region are for example: Castelo de Vide, located almost on the border with Spain, or Estremoz which is located in the center of an area full of marble quarries.
