A pretty coastal town on the Costa Brava

Located in the heart of Empordà, the village of Begur; one of the most beautiful places in the Costa Brava. The area is surrounded by mountains and has an extensive coastline. Begur has a historic center with many monuments and eight small coves and beaches, making it a unique environment. The most popular beach is Plage de Sa Tuna, located in a cove with white houses which makes it very cozy. Along the small boulevard are a few restaurants with a fantastic view over the coves. Here you will find clear waters and this makes it a good place to go snorkeling. An advice: take your water shoes with you since it is a pebble beach. On the various beaches of Begur there are many opportunities to do water sports such as sailing, diving and kayaking. There are also other possibilities for the sporty types among us such as tennis, horse riding, golf, cycling and mountain biking. Besides the beautiful beaches, Begur also has a beautiful historical center. The medieval castle is an imposing silhouette overlooking the city, the many houses, the alleys of the old town and the old fishermen's houses. It is a town with a lot of history in which pirates, sailors, fishermen and Indians lived side by side. These influences are clearly present, they have managed to retain the essence of their roots and identity.
