Fly&Drive in Istria, Plitvice Lakes And Zagreb: Authentic Experience

from: €785 p.p.

Number of nights: 9

Description

This Fly&Drive holiday in Croatia is for the ones who seek more than just a common beach or a city stroll! For an authentic Istrian experience we have singled out Rovinj, a charming small town that once pledged its allegiance to the Venetian republic in exchange for a protection from the pirates.

The Adriatic sea is known for its crystal blue colour, but Plitvice lakes will amaze you with its majestic waterfalls and emerald green water! This nature wonder has been UNESCO’s World Heritage since 1979. Eat and dine in the open air under the blue sky and green surroundings.

Your trip is not over yet! We want to take you to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia where you can take one of the shortest cable car rides that connects the Lower Town with the Upper Town. Zagreb is a vibrant city, with many museums and attractions to explore, such as market Dolac, Stone Gates or park Zrinjevac. To escape the crowd and hot days, you can hike to Sljeme mountain, known for its nature beauty and a skiing point in the winter.

The Melegran4 nights

For your stay in Rovinj we have picked out charming Hotel Melegran: its name is inspired by the town's symbol, the pomegranate (or "Melegran" in the Istrian dialect). This detailed décor house with stone walls and minimalistic but modern interior, vibrates with a comfy atmosphere that will make you feel outmost welcome!

You can start your day by exploring Rovinj or heading down to the beach where you can have a view over the St. Katarina Island. Interested in an underwater adventure? Then Baron Gautsch will be an amazing experience for you! This sunken ship from 1914 due to its tragic faith by an underwater mine is for sure a memorable diving venture.

Plan your trip to Pula to see the ancient Arena where Roman gladiators once fought. Or take a stroll down the “Korzo”, the heartbeat in the centre of Rijeka. Don’t miss out on Poreč and its famous Basilicum or a visit to Motovun, a medieval town known for its Film Festivals and mythological legacy.

Holiday Park Fenomen Plitvice3 nights

We couldn’t let you leave Croatia without visiting Plitvice lakes! One of the most unique places to overwhelm your senses with its gazing waterfalls, natural flora, walking trails and boardwalks as you hear the sounds of rushing water.

It is time to connect with the nature! Choose between a studio, a suite or a lodge at this unique luxury accommodation: wooden cabins with all necessary modern features. Fenomen will make you feel all over romantic again, whether it is the fresh air and the sunshine over the forest, or a cool swim in the nearby lakes (such as Sabljaci, Rastoke and Foginovo).

Embassy Row BnB2 nights

Embassy Row is a renovated house built in 1922, influenced by the work of a famous architect Christofer Alexander and his "Pattern language". This modern lodging has a charm of old times. Many commercials and movies were filmed here! We are proud to have been able to pick such a gem for you! Surrounded by greenery, Embassy Row also has a terrace and a garden.

The best way to explore the old town of Zagreb is to start from the main square Ban Jelačić, which almost serves like a border between the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Upper Town is great for sightseeing with an old church of St Marc, Stone Gates, Bloody Bridge and more. There is also Dolac, vibrant open market with local fruit and vegetables. Kaptol is just next to it, an old area with the Gothic style Cathedral.

Need a break? You can take a stroll in the Lower Town and view romantic Zrinjevac, well known park in the heart of local people, or Croatian National Theatre to see a play or admire its architectural beauty. You can also take a 30 min drive to charming Samobor, a mediaeval city surrounded by nature, famous for its “Kremšnita“ cake and masquerade carnivals that occur in February.
