Charming Fly and Drive Croatia: Istria and Zagreb

from: €565 p.p.

Number of nights: 7

Croatian coast is one of the best sunniest spots in Europe to spend your vacation, and this Fly&Drive is perfect for couples who seek Mediterranean luxury and a visit to Zagreb. The best of both worlds!

Istria is a perfect blend of Mediterranean influence with many beaches and hidden bays, but also a countryside with hilltops, floral meadows and vineyards. Start your luxury vacation by staying at Hotel Meneghetti nearby Rovinj, surrounded by their amazing winery fields.

To explore deeper Istria, we have chosen for you Hotel Peteani in Labin, just 5 km from the coast as you can gaze at the Adriatic sea and a view over island Cres. The best time to visit are the summer months (July and August).

In Zagreb we have picked out a special “home” for you! Embassy Row is a charming and luxurious private house, up in the hill and surrounded by greenery close to centre. The old part of the town is a vibrant and interesting place to see, easy to get around by foot and to stumble on one of the many restaurants around Kaptol and taste great barbeque. We suggest to try“ćevapi” – a grilled dish of minced meat typical for this area.

Meneghetti Wine Hotel and Winery - Relais & C3 nights

Hotel Meneghetti is a superbly equipped and a luxurious wine estate with private terraces, gardens, outdoor pools and an excellent restaurant. Their traditional wine and olive oil production is exquisite, and we want you to spoil yourself while you discover Istria.

Bale is a historic gem known as a stone town built on a hill and surrounded by endless olive groves and vineyards. Just 5km from the sea and the pristine coastline. Take a stroll down its stone-paved streets and visit the medieval castle of the Bembo family built in the 15th century.

For a romantic trip to Rovinj, the drive is not too long, with its charming atmosphere, small hidden streets and a view over the St. Katarina Island. Interested in an underwater adventure? Then Baron Gautsch will be an amazing experience for you! This sunken ship from 1914 due to its tragic faith by an underwater mine is for sure a memorable diving venture.

Plan your trip to Pula to see the ancient Arena where Roman gladiators once fought. Or take a stroll down the “Korzo”, the heartbeat in the centre of Rijeka. Don’t miss out on Poreč and its famous Basilicum or a visit to Motovun, a medieval town known for its Film Festival.

Embassy Row BnB2 nights

Embassy Row is a renovated house built in 1922, influenced by the work of a famous architect Christofer Alexander and his "Pattern language". This modern lodging has a charm of old times. Many commercials and movies were filmed here! We are proud to have been able to pick such a gem for you! Surrounded by greenery, Embassy Row also has a terrace and a garden.

The best way to explore the old town of Zagreb is to start from the main square Ban Jelačić, which almost serves like a border between the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Upper Town is great for sightseeing with an old church of St Marc, Stone Gates, Bloody Bridge and more. There is also Dolac, vibrant open market with local fruit and vegetables. Kaptol is just next to it, an old area with the Gothic style Cathedral.

Need a break? You can take a stroll in the Lower Town and view romantic Zrinjevac, well known park in the heart of local people, or Croatian National Theatre to see a play or admire its architectural beauty. You can also take a 30 min drive to charming Samobor, a mediaeval city surrounded by nature, famous for its “Kremšnita“ cake and masquerade carnivals that occur in February.
