Casa do Valle is your relaxing, green Bed & Breakfast in the Historical Center of Sintra as well as your point of reference for walking and hiking in the Sintra - Cascais Natural Park.

The guest house is set in the middle of a vast garden with a swimming pool and enchanting view to the mountain and the palaces. We are on a slope that used to be a vineyard. From Casa do Valle, it is only 400 meters to the Old Town Center, away from the hassle of the bustling tourist crowds. The monuments and museums, restaurants and shopping as well as the train line to Lisbon are within a walking distance.

Our Rooms and the Property

There are 11 double rooms: 7 standard rooms on the upper part of the property in three levels and the 4 superior rooms at the lower end of the property. They are in different buildings: standard rooms on the top of the property, superior rooms at the bottom of the property. Since we are located on the mountain, the terrain is inclined and there are many outside steps. Due to the inclination, our rooms have direct access to the outside.

All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower (all but one are ensuite), wooden floors and a spacious closet. All the superior rooms and the triple standard rooms allow for an extra bed or a baby cot.

In addition, we have a fully equipped guest kitchen and a bar-b-que area in the garden to prepare a full meal and relax in the property.

A 3rd person in a room over the age of 2 is considered an extra person. Price for an extra bed is 20€/night, baby-cots are free of charge.

Sintra municipality charges a 1€/night town tax per guest for a maximum of three nights. Guests under 13yo are free of charge. The town tax should be paid directly at Casa do Valle.

CHECK-IN:

Between 14h and 18h30 (2h - 6h30 pm). Check ins before or after these hours are sometimes possible but must be agreed upon in advance. A guaranteed early room availability equals to one night fee. There is a 20€ late check-in fee.

CHECK-OUT:

Occurs from 9h00 to 11h00, in some cases the check-out time can be extended if requested. Earlier departures, please check-out the day before during office hours (9:30-18:30). Late check outs are available only when previously agreed, and with a cost of one night fee. We can arrange to keep your luggage for a few hours after your check-out.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

We are on a slope and there are lots of outside stairs. Standard and Superior rooms are not in the same building: Standard rooms are located in the top part (=street level and down) and the superior rooms on the lower area of the property. There is an alternative gate at the bottom part of the property, accessible by car, for the superior rooms. The Historic Center is 500 meters uphill from our property.

PARKING:

There is a private parking area in the property that accommodates 8 cars. This parking is free of charge and is not supervised. As space is limited, to secure a parking spot on the property, it must be reserved beforehand. We reserve the spots on a first-come-first-serve basis. There are two wall chargers for electric cars (including Teslas), charging is free for our stay-in guests. Please mention beforehand if your car needs a charging spot. There is also street parking right outside the gate alongside the wall of the property for a 5€/day charge.

POOL:

The pool is not heated and we do not have a life guard. The water depth varies between 1.3 and 2.8 meters. Pool hours are between 9 am and 19h (7pm). No children are allowed in the pool without adult supervision.
