The Bed & Breakfast "Dimora del Podestà" is the ideal solution for those seeking comfort, refined detail and a warm family atmosphere in the heart of Positano. It is located on the Via Pasitea, the main street of Positano, in the lively and authentic Fornillo neighborhood. It is a typical and cozy home on the Amalfi Coast built between 1600-1700 and is characterized by a beautiful Pompeian red façade. In 1959 Domenico and Carmela Milo, parents and grandparents of the current owners, bought the Podestà, this old residence to make it their home which they loved and preserved intact until the recent renovation (2016) performed with respect to the ancient aesthetics. The name of the B&B Dimora del Podestà stems from a plaque on the facade of the building, placed in 1955 in memory of the Podestà of Positano.
The rooms are very spacious and bright with a sea view and balcony, private bathroom with hairdryer, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and Wi-Fi.
The B&B has a communal kitchen, where they prepare your breakfast everyday. The guests are welcome to use the fridge and all the equipment. Pietro, the manager, is at your disposal everyday from 8:30 to 15:30. Breakfast is the best moment to discuss daily programs and organize daytrips and excursions!
The B&B Dimora del Podestà has the charm of a historical residence with modern comforts: renovated in 2016 on the inside one may still feel the positive energy of those who lived there before with love and dedication: grandparents Domenico and Carmela to which they dedicated the room’s names: Mimi, Carmé and Music.
At about 80 meters you will find the Fornillo Grotto, where every year at Christimas time the locals set up the nativity scene.
The b&b has also a family run restaurant since 1964: The Saraceno d’Oro, located in the same building of the B&B Dimora del Podestà with its entrance on Via Pasitea 252. It is a historic restaurant of Positano synonymous with good quality and family atmosphere offering typical Mediterranean cuisine, wood-oven pizza, fresh seafood and homemade pastas. As guests of the B&B you will have a special 10% discount on your bill!
The B&B is located half way between the two main beaches in town: the Fornillo beach, small and quiet, and the Spiaggia Grande beach, that you will reach passing by the main church and the famous historic alleys, full of small shops and boutiques.
