Description
Masseria Montenapoleone built on a natural legacy, sits atop an ancient cave settlement, ensconced in the heart of centuries of olive plains, (the “Ulivi Secolari”), it is an ideal haven from which to admire the sea stretching across the horizon, and the green hills that frame this perfect picture. This is an ideal position to visit Puglia – Masseria Montenapoleone is in the heart of the region, about sixty km from Bari, close to the Itria Valley, and is a perfect starting point in order to explore the Salento beaches.
As soon as you come through Masseria Montenapoleone’ gates, you will notice the perfume of the wild rosemary and oleanders, mixed into the sea breeze. The Masseria has a long drive up the main building, with its irregular contours reflecting the passage of time, and surrounded by the marshlands of Pezze di Greco from which it rises. As you arrive, you will have the feeling you have arrived in a most extraordinary place, with plenty to explore.
The rooms are most original in the Masseria. There are fifteen rooms and one suite, all very different from one another, all furnished with hand-made furniture, and only with the most essential items. There are lampshades made from 60s mincing utensils, and shoe racks made from old shutters.
In every room you will find a dressing table, where in the old days the ladies would preen their faces and hair. The furnishings have been carefully arranged so that each room is comfortable, each with a bathroom, a sofa and wardrobe – making the rooms functional yet elegant.
