Description
Palazzo Calò is a Hidden Gem in the Historical Centre of Bari
Bari is one of the most interesting port cities you can find in Apulia, and while strolling down its old streets on the way to see the Cathedral of San Sabino we discovered the elegance of Palazzo Calò. Such an unexpected, but a delightful discovery!
Palazzo Calò is a true historic gem, a 16th century old “palace”, just as the name suggests, so don’t let the modern art and comfort fool you! Right from the start, we felt like entering a space of harmony and simple, but elegant charm. The sense of this old palace is still present and immersed within the original stone walls.
Enjoy the Grand View from Terrazza Calò
Terrazza Calò is a pleasant sunroof terrace, overlooking the pebbly streets and the centre of Bari. You can sense the breeze coming from the sea and hear the buzzing of an old town. After a short break in the city (with a good deal of cultural sightseeing), the local advice was to visit the beach San Francesco, just 15 min away with a car. The sandy beach with the blue waters of the Adriatic Sea did not disappoint us! It was great to spend the rest of the day under the warm Apulian sun.
From Palazzo Calò Hotel to the Busy Streets of Bari
One of the perks of this fabulous hotel, as we mentioned is just how essential and authentic part of the Bari it is. Since fresh seafood dish is also another treat of spending time in Apulia, we headed back to the city for a lovely dinner. Our last lovely evening stroll in the centre we decided to accompany by a glass of some fine Apulian red wine. We left Palazzo Calò with a found memory of Bari and the Apulian spirit.
