Description
The Foresteria dell'Abbazia is a historic residence that is part of the monastic complex of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael Archangel, founded in the middle of the eleventh century, to accommodate travelers and pilgrims who requested hospitality at the monastery. It is located in the heart of the historical center of Montescaglioso, near Porta S. Angelo, where sheep tracks converge and after passing through the "Parco delle Chiese Rupestri del Materano", they arrive in the city of Sassi, European Capital of Culture 2019.
