The wine region of Catalonia

Siurana is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the Tarragona province. It is an old city with an altitude of 737m above sea level alongside a ravine, with views of the valleys and the Siurana River. The small town is situated in the middle of the Montsant mountain range and can be reached via a paved or a forest path, an ideal place for hikers and mountain climbers. There are a total of 12 inhabitants in the village and since 1942 it is a part of the Cornudella de Montsant municipality. The famous village church is called Iglesia de Santa Maria and it is a unique example of Catalan architecture. The church is protected by the government and is considered to be a cultural heritage site. From below the houses and the church are hardly visible, because the stones originally hail from the surrounding mountains. From the top, one can enjoy the picturesque environment.
