and the huge Temples

Paestum has a long and wide beach (15 km), located along the Cilento sea. Between the coast and the beach there is a large pine tree where you can eat and relax protected from the shade of the branches, before returning to the beach! Not far from there, the majestic temples of Paestum are standing, which have been well-preserved. The largest and oldest temple, known as the "Basilica", was dedicated to Hera. Additionally, there is the temple of Poseidon. The third temple was dedicated to Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, and was named Ceres.

The archaeological area of Paestum, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1988, is surrounded by well-preserved walls and towers. Not far from there, you can explore the museum, richly filled with ancient Greek objects found in surrounding burial grounds. The highlight of the museum consists of paintings from the so-called "Diver's Tomb, the only remaining example of Greek painting in Magna Graecia.

Paestum is located in the middle of the "Piana del Sele", where buffalo mozzarella originates, a delicious traditional cheese with a DOP seal, which undeniably enhances the Margherita pizza: a genuine delight that draws numerous visitors to the archaeological site.
The journey can be concluded with a visit to one of the many dairy farms that offer tours where you can taste mozzarella in its various forms.
